My name is Jose Oros, and I am from the city of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. I came to California in 1988 and worked in the Restaurant Industry from 1989 to 2004. I moved to Las Vegas in September 2004 and worked for the Wynn Casino from 2005 to 2018.

In late 2016 my daughter Stacy and her boyfriend Chance mentioned their intentions to open a Vegan restaurant. Back in the day I had no idea what vegan meant, so in my mind I thought they wanted to sell fruit and vegetable juices. Then they asked me if I knew that it wasn’t the same vegan as vegetarian, which took me completely by surprise since I had no clue.

I felt so embarrassed that later on I went to do some research online to learn more about veganism, so next time at least I knew what were we talking about. Then, the more research I did the more I became interested in being part of this vegan culture and diet. We started planning this venture using my daughter’s recipes while I ran the operation and looked for suppliers.

It took us nearly a year but we opened Veganos Kitchen restaurant in Decemer 2017. We serve 100% Vegan Mexican Food and we recently expanded our menu to include more burgers and burritos and now pizzas.
